Here are the rules for trials and returns for my black German bar stock hard rubber mouthpieces:
Unless otherwise listed, I do offer a generous 7 day trial and return policy for any of my brand new black German bar stock hard rubber 10MFAN mouthpieces purchased in the United States directly from me through my website at the regular $495 retail price for soprano, alto, tenor, and baritone. This is for stock size pieces sent to a United States address only.
I do not offer trials or returns, or cancellations, if you are having us do a custom tip opening for you, or if your mouthpiece was bought through eBay or from anyone else, other than directly through me through my website.
OK, HERE’S HOW IT WORKS:
1. You order and pay for one or two hard rubber mouthpieces through my website at the regular retail price.
2. Enjoy play testing, and you MUST use a tooth patch on the beak, and make sure to use a ligature that will NOT get any scratches on the mouthpiece. 3. You have up to 7 days for the trial. (The day of delivery is considered day 1). Have reeds and ligatures on hand to be able to put the mouthpiece through its paces with those different set-ups….because reeds are everything!!! Be ultra-careful with your ligatures not to get any scratches on the mouthpiece….. because IF YOU SCRATCH IT, YOU OWN IT. If you intend to make a return, just contact me via email WITHIN those 7 days. Keep an eye on if a holiday is at the end of one of those seven days, or if a Sunday is at the end, so that you get it out in time BEFORE the 8th day occurs.
My email is: connsaxman@comcast.net
IF YOU MAKE A RETURN:
You will pay for all the shipping costs to and from, any PayPal fee they took out when you ordered, and there is a trial fee per mouthpiece, ($40). As an example, so you understand this, if you bought a mouthpiece for $495, you will be returned that amount minus the PayPal fee of say $15 or so, minus the $40 trial fee, and you are responsible for the cost to ship the mouthpiece back to me. You will be returned the money once the mouthpiece is back here and I have made sure it is in perfect condition. If you try the mouthpiece and decide to keep it, you will obviously NOT be charged ANY trial fee for it. 😁🎷❤️
LET ME BE SUPER CLEAR HERE ABOUT THE TIMING OF A MOUTHPIECE RETURN:
The day the mouthpiece is delivered to you is day 1, and if you decide to return it, it MUST BE POSTMARKED no later than 7 days later, and sent back via USPS Priority mail, FULLY INSURED for the FULL purchase price… for me to accept the return. You NEED to send me the tracking number once it’s sent. If you DO NOT get it in the mail within those 7 days from the day it was delivered, I will NOT accept the return. If you wake up following morning on the 8th day after it was delivered, and forgot to send it back, the mouthpiece is yours. ABSOLUTELY NO EXCEPTIONS. You have an entire 7 days to organize this for yourself. I am very generous, and will NOT be taken advantage of.
Abide by my rules and everyone will be happy. 😃🎷😃
When does my 7 day trial and return policy NOT apply???
Simply, there are NO trials or returns when I offer my hard rubber mouthpieces at a SALE price, which is ANY PRICE below the normal retail price. Every once in a while, I will put up a surprise sale out of the blue, and I don’t offer trials or returns on those because of the discounted price offering.
CUSTOM TIP OPENING REQUESTS: There are no returns or trials, or cancellations allowed on any mouthpiece which you’ve requested a custom tip opening for. In other words, if when you initially order a tenor mouthpiece and want it to be a .111 tip opening, we are MORE THAN HAPPY to do that for you at no extra cost, but you have to let me know you want that size before you order it, and there are no trials or returns or cancellations of those orders, on ANY custom tip opening orders. I pay the shop right away for those pieces when they are ordered, and I will not return money if you want to cancel an order for a custom tip opening. You can sell the mouthpiece on your own if you don’t want it, but this is a clear policy.
Didn’t pick up your mouthpiece from the post office?: if you don’t pick up your mouthpiece from the post office and it just sits there for weeks and gets returned to me, you will NOT be refunded for any reason! It is your job to go to the post office and get the mouthpiece if you missed the initial delivery, and you’ve been sent the tracking number to follow this on its journey to you, so it is your responsibility to pick it up. If for ANY reason, the post office sends the mouthpiece back to me. You will be responsible to pay for shipping of the mouthpiece back to you and there are NO refunds whatsoever for you not picking up the mouthpiece. If you decide not to get the mouthpiece from the post office, that is your choice, but there are no cancellations or refunds on the mouthpiece that you have chosen not to pick up.
Buyers who use a U.S. address for shipping, but don’t live in the U.S. : Buyers outside the U.S. who use a U.S. address or APO to have their mouthpieces shipped to, are not eligible for trials or returns. I have dealers outside the United States, and I encourage my buyers outside the U.S. to go through those dealers, and abide by those stores individual policies. I do however ship directly overseas every week when purchases are made directly through me, but those are without trials or returns.
***** IF YOU DAMAGE THE MOUTHPIECE, YOU OWN IT. These are hand finished masterpieces and I take great pride in that. I handle my business professionally, and I expect the same courtesy from you. ******
—Do not wash the mouthpiece as I will wash it and sanitize it here…thank you. Just wipe off the beak from the tooth patch please.

——————————————————————METAL MOUTHPIECE INFORMATION:
THERE ARE NO TRIALS OR RETURNS ON MY METAL MOUTHPIECES. ONCE YOU PAY FOR THE MOUTHPIECE, IT IS YOUR COMMITMENT TO THE PROCESS, AND THE MONEY WHEN RECEIVED BY ME, IS 100% NONREFUNDABLE.
I make these metals in big groups a few times a year, and when I do, they sell out quickly. The process to make these is just so time-consuming, labor intensive, and so costly, that I don’t offer them but a few times a year…. so there are absolutely NO trials or returns ever on my metal mouthpieces. ***** The Robusto metal tenors are $750 each, and my limited run of Showboat metal altos are $699 each plus shipping worldwide, using USPS priority mail. Players await my announcements for when I’m going to release the next batch, so feel free to contact me if you aren’t searching the web, and I can let you know approximately when the next batch will be made and I will get you on the list.
*** Let me be clear.: Once you order the metal mouthpiece from me, I pay the shop and get you on the list. That payment is NONREFUNDABLE. It is a commitment from you that you ordered the mouthpiece and you commit to that order. There is no backing out of the deal once you have paid for the mouthpiece. It is your commitment, as the shop is paid right away when you make your payment. You are then put on the list to have a mouthpiece made for you.
Thank you for your support. We use a beautiful heavy plating, but let’s face it…..plating doesn’t last forever. There are a lot of factors that come into play with how long it will last without getting any wear, but one thing is for sure….I recommend and really insist that everyone take their reed off EVERY TIME right after they are done playing, and make sure the mouthpiece is kept dry!!!! Very very very important. That will help the longevity, and is a must-do with plated pieces. This is just a heads up for everyone looking to buy a metal mouthpiece. All of these metals are sold as is. I do not warranty the plating for any specific amount of time. I have players that are on these for months or years without any issues, but everyone has a different level of acidity and all of that, so I don’t make ANY claims or warranty when it comes to the plating. All of my metal mouthpieces are sold as is and will give you a lifetime of enjoyment if you let them. The pieces will still play perfect if you get some wear. The tables are flat and the facing curves are perfect so don’t worry about anything in terms of playability. Just enjoy the pieces and take care of them the best you can.
Thank you, Mark
