The ***NEW*** SHOWTIME hr tenor —-Vintage Early Babbitt Link SLAYER!

August 6, 2018 By Mark Sepinuck

My philosophy has always been to make better designs, and this is one of my finest creations.

For all you HR Link guys, I have made a modern design original mouthpiece that gets that Link thing and offers way more available power, volume, better altissimo, better tuning, clearer articulation, with all that richness and body….HERE IT IS!

The long-awaited 10mfan “Showtime” hard rubber tenor mouthpiece.
This is the modern answer for players looking for that Otto Link Early Babbitt hr straight ahead power piece…but want an original modern design that gets those vibes and plays even better than those vintage pieces! No copy pieces needed, I am only interested in making better original designs!  It is not an Otto Link blow, it is a 10MFAN blow, which I prefer.
We have absolutely killed it here.
This piece takes it to a whole new level and outplays the Slant and Early babbitt copy pieces out there.

This is the perfect fit for my 2nd Category focussed mouthpiece. The Robusto is my 2nd Category spread mouthpiece and I now have the perfect piece for a focussed option, like I have with my other categories.
This piece is an incredible all-around mouthpiece that can do it all. My mouthpiece craftsman called me, and was BLOWN AWAY!
This IS the answer for the modern guys looking for that classic sounding powerhouse piece.
The sound has so many options…it can be warm, mellow, full-bodied, powerful, brighter, punchier, etc. It just does it all. Incredible altissimo.
Not a Category 3 piece, but can easily be used for jazz, R&B, funk, etc.
Its another INCREDIBLY SPECIAL unique original design.
This is a real treat, and I am thrilled to finally be able to announce orders starting TODAY!!!
I can start getting orders out in about 2 weeks from when you order.

Sadly, the mouthpiece world is so over-full of the same vintage mouthpiece copies being released by tons of different makers, with different names on them. (Slants, EB’s, Resos, Floridas, Double Rings, Meyer Bros altos, Soloist sops, Guardalas, Bergs, etc…).
I want MORE options for my clients in all original designs.

You can read about that and lots of other great stuff at my website:

Some Mobley on the Merlot tenor mouthpiece

April 15, 2018 By Mark Sepinuck

Here is my friend Ian Tordella showing how wonderful he sounds on the Merlot hard rubber tenor saxophone mouthpiece. He is playing the Mobley penned gem, “Soul Station”. That album to me is glorious on so many accounts. If you haven’t checked it out yet, treat yourself to some jazz magic! The Merlot mouthpiece model has a big, warm, and open sound top to bottom. It also has a nice spread so you can hear it ear to ear when playing. It has loads of volume available when you need it, and excellent altissimo for a low baffle mouthpiece design. These attributes were important for me when designing this model. In fact, with all of my models, I wrote out a list of descriptions first, and then prototyped for a long time to make mouthpieces that matched what I had envisioned and wrote down on paper. Ian is playing in a beautiful duo setting here—–Enjoy!!!

Eric Spaulding and Greg Hawkins enjoying their Black Widow’s

April 11, 2018 By Mark Sepinuck

Eric Spaulding and Greg Hawkins giving you a taste of what their 10MFAN Black Widow tenor saxophone mouthpieces can do.

This is my “cross-over’ mouthpiece that bridges the gap between a killer hard rubber tenor saxophone mouthpiece that can be used for jazz settings, and one needed for more authentic sounding funk, blues, pop, smooth jazz, R&B, etc. A mouthpiece that can truly be used for any setting and sound right in all of those settings. This is a medium height long baffle that was designed to do so much more than the high baffle pieces do in a gentle setting, and all the stuff they can do in a louder setting. Typically higher baffle pieces get thin and too buzzy for most guys when they want to use them in more jazz surroundings. They work great for the loud stuff, but not so great when played gentler. This medium height longer baffle takes care of all of this so you have the best of both worlds. A piece that can be lush and full for the jazz stuff, and a powerhouse player for the louder stuff when you need to let loose. You can hear that in these recordings…. Enjoy!!!!

Introducing the OVAL chamber mouthpiece masterpiece: “The Classic”. Sam Skelton and Ben Wendel

April 7, 2018 By Mark Sepinuck

Hi guys!

Well, we are very excited to finally introduce the design that tenor saxophone players have been asking me to come out with for several years. Sorry for the delay….it takes time to make mouthpiece magic.

This hard rubber tenor saxophone mouthpiece is called The Classic. It is an incredibly unique original design that features a higher floor, a short baffle, extremely scooped out sidewalls, and an oval chamber. The mouthpiece is incredibly comfortable to play as we took a lot of time prototyping a beak that would feel great and allow for the warmth I wanted for this mouthpiece. Now that you’ve heard about the design, lets talk about the sound!

Players have asked for a tenor saxophone mouthpiece that has a big, focussed, warm, round, and even sound top to bottom—but with lots of volume available, and great altissimo. A piece thats rich sounding with great depth and a fat core. Its a pleasure for the player to play as it feels great in the mouth, and the response has the right amount of resistance to it, for me. The player hears the sound right in front of them, (as its a focussed sound), but with the right amount of width so the player hears it great while playing.

The wonderful thing about all of my mouthpieces, is that there is immense flexibility and versatility with simple reed choices. They are like a blank canvas that allows player to player to get their own sound, and they don’t make everyone sound the same on the same model.

Here are 2 great examples showing two different sides of what this mouthpiece can do. Great versatility.

First we have Sam Skelton live, showing the warm, full, and powerful side of The Classic.

Now we have Ben Wendel showing the vibrant, brighter, punchier, powerful  side of The Classic.
